I was going to wait a bit before uploading this, but I'm in such a good mood right now that I figured what the hell.

This took me long enough to complete, and I'm not even sure if it's finished now. I like parts of the background, but not the entire thing. Also, the actual inks themselves are ancient, over 2 years old, and look horribly dated to me. Oh well. Original character.

I used some brushes from an utterly wonderful brush artist, ~microchaotic. I highly recommend you check out her brushes.

(And for those of you wondering, I'm happy because my application to return to my wife in Finland was approved today. :heart: )

Ogh... the shading is just... all sorts of good. And I love the stray tendrils, barbed bits, and semi-circles. I'm not so fond of the original picture, though. It looks off-balance. The middle/right part of the picture has a lot of very defined shapes, but the left side's pretty bare.

I really dig the background, though. I'd like to know how you did the rusted/dirty effect.

Oh God... I have to fav+ this. *sighs*

This is the kind of art I admire because I can't do it! I really, really can't. I love the dark atmosphere in this pic (Like the origional- only moreso) Sometimes adding colour can detract from the origional feeling, but the burnt shadowy feeling you get from that background colours along with all the grey/brown shades through this adds atmosphere rather than takes away.

And that character of yours- :shivers:

God! I wish I could do this! Teach me how!

strange, I was notified of this going up in my devwatch. I hate it when that happens, especially when it means I miss out on stuff such as this. Loved the "unfinished" version and I continue to love this finished one. I fave it as well because it looks really great...very fun to look at. sorry to hear you were in a bad mood when you posted this. I hope its gone by now.
